2018 Golden Globes Fashion Recap

I wasn't sure if I was going to write this post.

As you know, many all of the celebrities walking the red carpet wore black in solidarity of the #TimesUp and #MeToo movements. As you probably know, the movements are in support of ending sexual harassment, intimidation and abuse in the workplace and everywhere. In life.

Instead of asking celebrities on the red carpet, "Who are you wearing?" they were asked, "Why are you wearing black?"

For the first time ever on the red carpet, the voice was more important than the fashion.

And as a woman, as a humanI couldn't be more in support of this.

Instead of running through and judging the fashion tonight, I'm going to merely show a selection of the strong women who wore black.

That's it.

While I adore fashion and adore watching the red carpet, the inspiration for this year's Golden Globes red carpet far outweighs my need to write about dresses.

Solidarity over here on THIS blog.

Yes, to diversity.
Yes, to equal pay.
Yes, to respect for all.
Yes, to strong women everywhere.
Yes, for professionalism.
Yes, for sale places.
Yes, for a seat at the table.

Now, here are the gowns. Just names, a few comments. No snark. All love tonight.

At the end I'll have my favorite(s).

Noteable thoughts:

*Oprah wins.

*Nicole Kidman rocked out her speech. I love when women support other women.

*Debra Messing calling out E! for not compensating their male and female hosts similarly was AMAZING.

*Kelly Clarkson is a doll and when she saw Meryl Streep on the red carpet and was speechless and cried a little, I'll be honest... I kinda cried a little, too.

*I have such respect for Sterling K. Brown. His depiction of his character, Randal's, panic/anxiety attach on This is Us was astounding.

*I wish Seth Meyers was one of my brothers.

*Laura Dern's acceptance speech? Yes. And yes again.
