I recently [finally] got around to watching Inglourious Basterds.

I kind of really liked it.

This surprised me. I'm sort of allergic to Quentin Tarantino and his movies as a general rule, but I felt that this movie was fantastic. (I'm also allergic to Uma Thurman. So allergic that I don't even feel like googling her last name to confirm if I spelled it correctly.)

Christoph Waltz was phenomenal and for some reason, I'm not sure why I do, but I really enjoy Brad Pitt. (And no, not in a, "Brad-Pitt-is-on-my-list" kind of way...) He made me smile as much as he did in Burn after Reading.

Not bad. Not bad.

  1. I actually like Quentin movies, and while this wasn't one of my faves, I thought it was pretty good. And I know what you mean about Brad Pitt. I feel the same way about him and Johnny Depp: I love them in movies, and I'd prefer to only see and hear them there. I don't care about anything they have to say in real life.

    (I hate Uma.)

  2. "We're gonna be doin' one thing, and one thing only... killin' Nazis." I agree, this movie was fantastic, and so was Brad Pitt. He really is a great actor.

I'm allergic to Neil Diamond. (I'm not sure why.)

  3. i thought it was awesome. i thought it was more of a "movie" than the pulp Tarantino usually produces (although i have enjoyed some of those as well) - but this one, i thought, was incredible.

waltz was one of the worst villains i've ever seen - and he was riveting.

and even i love me some brad pitt - "i celebrate the guy's entire collection"

and i just saw "the king's speech" last night - it's as good as everyone says it is. good history, superb acting.

  4. I also liked this movie - i was nervous to watch it because, well, it's tarintino and they are usually horrible. like horribly graphic, horribly disturbing, and horribly insane.

waltz and pitt were both phenom.

you know i deeply intrigued by all things german.
