Lila Publicly Spake.

Lila had her second ever "ejercicios de elocución" and it went very well.

The whole point of the event is to have the 4-year-old classes speak in front of people; to gain confidence, memorize something, speak clearly, etc. Some kids are incredible -- they're like mini Elton John's and Lady Gaga's -- all about the audience.

And then some kiddos are timid. Some plow through their rhyme like a freight train. Some SCREAM into the microphone. Some require the teacher to hold their hand, some do full-on interpretive dances.

It's awesome.

And Lila did great.

(Nope, I didn't tie yellow crepe paper to her head. They did that. They boys had taped-on, brown paper ties. ADORBS.)

After it was over, the principal told me that Lila's pronunciation was so good -- "just perfect". She seemed surprised. I smiled.

Um, she was born here.

I believe she's the only American in her class. (Which I love.) I will forever be thankful that she's been immersed in Spanish. Obviously there are grown-up benefits to being bi-lingual, but right now I love the pronunciation differences.

SEE-SARS = scissors

And she refuses to use contractions: No, "I don't know" in our house, it is "I do not know." No, "I can't." It's, "I cannot."

Lol.

Ah, Lila.

Some un-edited, yet ADORABLE photos...

I know it's blurry, but be still my heart.

WHEN YOUR BABY RUNS TO YOU IT IS THE BEST.

With her friend Mia Jimena.

With her other good friend, Rony Vanessa.

Oh, I love being a parent.
