Comment plea. Again. (Installing a new commenting system and need some guinea pigs.)

Thank ya'll for letting me know about the commenting issues. I'm researching and will be installing a new third-party commenting system.

I am importing all previous comments and it's said to take up to 24 hours -- so rest assured that if you've left a comment... EVER... it will show up again!  Until then, play along - will you?

Kindly try this out - leave me a comment.

What do you think?

I mean, if it's good enough for people.com, it's good enough for me.

  1. For me, when I turned OFF the option for people to comment anonymously and turned off the catchpa requirement, it fixed the issue, and I never got spam. Commenting is a huge reason I just switched to Wordpress, but while on blogger, it worked out fine to keep their commenting system as long as catchpa is off AND anon commenting is off.

  3. LOVE it, and if you have a WP blog, I don't have to remind myself to check back on your post to see if you replied to my comment (like I did in this instance, for example), yet unlike blogger, you're not forced to follow EVERY other comment on the post if you "subscribe" to the comments. I was with Blogger for 3 yrs, and I am 100% happy that I finally made the switch (and it was incredibly easy to do).

For me, I don't necessarily want my twitter, google, and FB linked to my private blog identity, and it drives me nuts to log into Disques or other commenting systems b/c I'm already logging into so many things... so I end up just writing my name and email in order to comment on a post like yours, but then my blog isn't linked, which is kind of a bummer. First world problems, I know. :-)

  8. Hmmm... all good info. I'm wondering if there is a way for me to "turn on" something so that you get an auto-response when I reply to your comment.

  11. it didn't make me put my last name, but that's what's associated w/ my email address, so it just auto-populated somehow. and i just checked both my email and spam folders... no notification of your response to my comment. wanh wanh. :(
