Meet Millie.

1/24/2012 09:55:00 PM

This is Millie (Mildred) Mary-Lou.

She's our new dog.

She arrived today, on Vivi's 1st birthday.

She's from a high-kill shelter in Tennessee. She was surrendered because her previous owners, "had a baby" and was fostered by two of our favorite people in Ohio who are helping the world by saving one dog at a time. I saw a picture of her several weeks ago and thought, "Hmmm... maybe we need her."

All the stars aligned and the logistics worked themselves out and she arrived to us safe and sound.

She's great.
We think she's about 10 or 11 months old and we think her name has always been Millie. (We have no intentions of changing it.) However, we added the Mary-Lou. Mildred was Craig's great grandma, Mary Lou was my Grandma.

We're not too sure of her breed. Maybe some Havanese, a bit of Affenpinscher and possibly some shih tzu? Whatever it is, it works.

I think she's part ewok.

So far, so good. She's fit in to our chaos quite well and she and Ferg seem to be fast friends... well, except for a skirmish over a dog bone.

She's pretty cute, huh?

We love her already.

  11. 1). it's admirable that you've taken in little Millie.

2). though i cannot imagine any of your dogs being as fantastic as the first 2, i'll give Millie a shot. Ferg turned out to be the perfect little sis to Nattie...

3). i cannot yet see Millie's lower lip, but i presume i will want to put lipstick on it in the same way that i want to do this to The Ferg?

4). can't wait to meet Millie since meeting Millie would necessitate my traveling to Cabo.
