Thought you might want to see a regular 'ole Los Cabos street.
With regular 'ole cars. (I love this purple beetle.)
And, regular 'ole ice cream carts. (How fantastic is this? Who leads their ice cream cart with a bicycle anymore when you can use a moped? Sometimes you need to get that ice cream to the people fast.)
And... in Mega, our grocery store, it appears that Halloween is just around the corner. I'm not kidding. These costumes are actually for sale at Mega right now.
Yeah.
It's March.
And still at Mega? A terrible cake selection. You look at it, and you're like... "That's not too bad." Then you look closer and realize it's the same several cakes/brownies repeated over and over again: chocolate, yellow, brownies, white, pineapple upside down, repeat.
And, it appears that the royal wedding is even a big deal here. I mean, check out the cover of HOLA.
Every Monday morning I wake up with a headache because I cry for exactly one hour on Sunday night. Why? Because I'm watching Lifetime's Coming home about soldiers returning from their tours of duty, from the throes of war...
...and into the arms of their families.
It's too much.
On December 19th, 2003 - my brother came home. I remember it like it was yesterday.
I take that sibling-love that I have for my brother, add in my love for my husband and the love that I have for my babies and well, this show is just too much to bear.
I feel for the moms who lose their sons.
The fathers who lose their daughters.
The siblings who lose their best friends.
The theme throughout the show is sacrifice.
Each time I see a soldier come home to his/her family, I remember watching that door open... and seeing my brother walk toward my family.
I was so proud. So overcome with emotion. And so happily hidden behind my camera.
I'm forever grateful for the men and women who take a leave from their daily lives to work, fight and serve to ensure my freedoms.
Those people like my brother.
They miss births...
They miss birthday parties...
They miss graduations...
They miss weddings...
--
They miss their lives so that we can have ours.
So, watch this show with a grateful heart and take a few quiet moments afterward to remember those who serve...
And also those who bravely gave their lives.
...and if you can get through this show with a dry eye... well, I'll be surprised.
This sweet baby just went 7 hrs between feedings and allowed me to sleep for SIX hours and EIGHTEEN minutes IN A ROW. This is first time I've had this much consecutive sleep since the night before she was born (Jan. 24).
Response: I know. I actually should have written, "Axe me a question." That totally would have been funnier.
Indeed, I've heard of Florence and the Machine and have commented a couple of times on Florence's awards shows dress choices. I will check her out more thoroughly, though - since I know you and trust your musical recommendations.
What am I listening to these days? When I can? I'm listening to the sound of silence. When that's not possible it's usually Lila saying, "Hm? Hm? Hm?" 85 times in a row or Vivienne's crying.

Next question:
Response: At this point in my life, I'm thrilled if I leave the house without my gnarly, old, beat-up red faded flip flops on my feet. It seems that every time I think I look good, I forget one thing: to do my hair, to change my shirt, to wear cute shoes...
In Cabo, I never leave my house without my sunglasses. Ever. (I was like this when I lived in Toledo, OH, too.) And, I'm a huge believer in buying sunglasses sans the little wire-nose-pad things because those ALWAYS get stuck in my hair. My look = hair piled on top of my head and sunglasses.
Also, sadly I don't watch Dancing with the Stars. Just not enough room on the DVR. I mean, I had to add back in Real Houseswives of Orange County, and all.

Here you are, dear friend.

I'll try to find some better side-by-sides. :)

Last question:
Response. Awesome. Here's a cute video of Vivienne from last night. Snoring while in the sling. You know, since you asked...
About butter/margarine. I've always tended toward butter because it's more natural than margarine. (I find melted margarine to be frightening.) For years and years, margarine had trans fats and tons of not so great things in it - now I understand that there are more healthful alternatives on the market (for those of you who live in the States.) Still, the choice for mi familia y yo (and I) is unsalted butter.
I use butter for cooking/baking, too - and let's just say that my chocolate chip cookies are ALWAYS flat as pancakes. (But C. tells me this is because I let the butter get to warm. But then I tell him, "Hey - we live in Mexico. There's a fine line between 'room temperature' and 'melted.' I can't help it if when I put the butter on the counter it melts in a hot (pun intended) second.)

This has been fun! Got any more questions? Leave 'em in the comments section.
Which one do you like better? There's a sale starting tomorrow (see here) and well, I'm going to get me one of these gigantic you-now-have-two-kids bags.
Choice #1 - Folkloric (love.) See close up of fabric here.
Choice #2 - Lemon Parfait (also like.) See close up of fabric here.
Please feel free to comment as to why you feel whichever way.
NOTE: I have a purse in folkloric and my fear is that I'll look too matchy/matchy if I get the same thing... Thoughts?
