Who am I to judge? But really?

When Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey announced the names of their sweet baby twins last year I was annoyed.

The little boy is Moroccan. (No, he wasn't adopted from Morocco. That's just his name.)

The little girl is Monroe. (As in Marilyn. Or as in the 5th president of the U.S., James Monroe.)

Either way, their names are Moroccan Cannon and Monroe Cannon.

Ok.

Because I read people.com* and saw this caption under the photo above, I now know the following and am even MORE annoyed with Mariah and Nick:
"Son Moroccan Scott and daughter Monroe – their folks call them Roc and Roe – are introduced to Barbara Walters, who interviews the parents inside their Manhattan apartment."
What?

Did I just read that correctly?

They call their children, "Roc" and "Roe"?

ROC AND ROE?

You named your children Moroccan and Monroe so that you could call them, "Roc" and "Roe."

[insert heavy, heavy sigh. Throw hands up in the air. Throw self on the ground face first. Give up.]

*not proud of this

  1. (small voice) I actually kind of like the name Monroe.

But "Roc" and "Roe" is absurd. If they did that on purpose, they should both be slapped. Daily.
