Movie Review: The King's Speech

5/10/2011 04:08:00 AM

This past weekend, I actually watched a movie IN ITS ENTIRETY and I adored it.

Oh my, I'm willing to say that The King's Speech was the best movie I've seen in quite.some.time.

I enjoyed the storyline. I appreciated the acting. And my heart was warmed - and I'm a sucker for all those things.

Colin Firth? He deserved his Best Actor oscar.

Helena Bonham Carter? AHHH. I cannot even express how much I enjoy her.

Geoffrey Rush (Barbossa in Pirates of the Caribbean) was incredible.

Have you seen it? Did you like it? Why or why not?

Fabulous.

  2. And Helena was filming the Harry Potter finale at the same time. Two DRASTICALLY different characters - and she nails them both.

In fact, three of the actors did the same thing: Gambon (played the king, Firth's father) and the guy who played Churchill.

  3. I thought it was great too! Wow, the pressure that is put on people born into monarchy! And Lionel was such a good friend to the king. I was touched.

  4. loved it. in fact, i loved it so much that i saw it in the theater twice. which i NEVER do. but it was so brilliantly witty and well done. i loved the 2 strong male leads, but loved that they were backed by equally strong women.
