I'm a hypocrite.

This is a french toast bacon cupcake. Yes. It is.

It's true.

I can say it without hesitation: I love bacon.

Is it politically correct? I'm not so sure.

There was a time in our lives when we were meatless eaters. It's true, for about seven years we stopped eating meat for all of the reasons that everyone in the world should stop eating meat. The way food animals are treated is deplorable.

That said, I still love bacon.

After not having eaten it for YEARS and having only re-discovered it recently, I love it.

Sure, it's conflicting. Sure I shouldn't like it, but I can't help it.

Nor can I help thinking that I'd never MAKE the recipe for this FRENCH TOAST CUPCAKE with bacon... but I'd totally eat one if someone made them for me.

  2. I have been dying to make chocolate covered bacon and then I saw a recipe for Nutella covered bacon! OMG! I HAVE to try it.

I don't think you are a hypocrite. You are allowed to change your mind.

  3. Yes, totally allowed to change your mind!

I do not make it very often nor do I get it on sandwiches often, but only because I love the stuff. I love salty and sweet and have wondered how bacon with dessert would be. Iris, I will come over and try your Nutella Bacon if you are look for taste testers!

  4. There is a Michael Simon (from Iron Chef) restaurant called B Spot around here. They have a Vanilla Bean Apple Pie Bacon milkshake. Yes, bits of bacon IN the milkshake. Which sounds totally nasty to me. But it was DELICIOUS.

  5. I stopped eating meat for about 10 years, but also recently went back to it. I just enjoy it even though it isn't good for so many reasons. I'm only human.
