Forgivness.

"Forgiveness is letting go of the hope that the past can be changed."

Read it again. Slowly.

"Forgiveness is letting go of the hope that the past can be changed."

Oh boy.

I heard this a couple of weeks ago and it has resonated with me again and again.

"Forgiveness is letting go of the hope that the past can be changed."

This is so powerful for me.

  2. You know, I don't watch Oprah, and I really generally have no use for her. (And I refuse to watch OWN.) But this is great. Seriously great. This is something to write down and keep on one's person at all times for easy reference. SO great.

  3. Tim Keller: "Forgiveness is always a form of costly suffering. You not only suffer the original loss of happiness, reputation, and opportunity, but now forgo the consolation of inflicting the same on them. You are absorbing the debt, taking the cost of it completely on yourself instead of taking it out of the other person. It hurts terribly. Many people would say it feels like a kind of death...but from death comes life."

  4. This can be such a hard thing to remember but something we need to be reminded of.
