Oh, my sweet Lila.

I think you know...

I think you know that in just a matter of days all of our lives are going to change.

Here's why I think you know...

You're making me laugh all the time.

You're snuggling with me more.

There's just something about you, my sweet baby girl. Just something quirky and great about you...

It feels like you just keep growing up.

You love to dress up. You immediately ask for your hair bow as soon as you wake up. And, adore necklaces and purses. You adore lotion and walk around with both palms outstretched as soon as we dab a tiny, pea-sized bit on your hands. You "pretend fed" your baby for the first time this week. (And no one taught you how to.) We're pretty positive that you're saying, "Thank you" all the time. You conquered the chalk board, too.

You're just so much fun.

One minute I feel like you're still my baby. Complete with a baby face...

...the next minute you're yelling, "No! No! No!" to bring me back to reality and remind me that you're ASSERTING YOU INDEPENDENCE, thankyouverymuch. "I will do what I want."

We've recently learned that giving you choices sometimes chills out your propensity for saying, "No!" all the time. Instead of, "Are you ready to eat?" (In which you invariably reply, "No."), we ask, "Do you want some cheese or a cracker?" You get to make the decision. And as MY daughter you say, "tzeese". (Of course you do.)

Reason #203,009, 823 I'm so proud of you.

You play so well independently... (Most of the time.)  And I love that about you. You're not afraid, and actually prefer, to get your hands dirty.

(You garden in cheetah leggings.)

(And a boy's shirt that I couldn't pass up.)

And your first pair of converse.

It's so fun to watch as you get older just whom you've received certain traits from.

You're intense and brilliant and inquisitive and thorough like your Daddy.  (That's dirt on your face.)

And you're quirky, a bit loud and adore technology like your Mommy. (Mommy's little blogger.)

Sometimes you have judgment lapses, though... like when you chalked on your chair a couple of days ago.

You were forced to take a time-out.

Consequences, you're learning, blow.

Sweet baby girl of mine, I love you. (Especially that nose.)

Stop growing up, ok?

love,
kb

Since I wasn't blogging for nine months or so, I haven't been keeping up on how she's grown. I saw this post and thought, "No, that can't be! She's so big!" She is a beautiful little girl and I can't believe how time has flown.
