Christmas shopping.

I love to shop.
I love to shop for family and friends.
I love giving gifts.

I am uncomfortable physically being there when they open said gifts.
In fact, I hate being around anyone who opens gifts from me and I prefer to not open gifts in front of anyone. (Unless it's C. or Lila, of course.)

It's just uncomfortable.

That's all.

  1. Yup, me too. Especially if it's something the person is REALLY excited to give me. I always feel like my reaction won't be what they're hoping for, like I have to be overly effusive. And if I'm the gift giver, I think I'm making them feel that way, too. :)

    Ah, the holidays.

  2. I feel the same exact way! It's nice to know I'm not the only one.

  3. I love Christmas and Christmas gifts. But there is a degree of uncomfortability (new word!) when opening gifts in front of the in-laws or people you don't like (ha! how's that for christmas spirit?).

  4. If I remember correctly, I think it is actually considered rude in some cultures to open gifts in the presence of the gift-giver... so, you are definitely not alone!
