(Just a random article that I fancied reading and thought I'd pass on to ya'll.)

  1. VERY interesting. I confess...I'm one of those moms who asked to be induced before her due date because I was uncomfortable and paranoid that I would go into labor in front of my second graders. I wouldn't do it again if I had the option - I feel like I missed out on the natural process of going into labor, and it really has nothing to do with the fact that my induction DID fail and result in a c-section. I will be having a repeat c-section with my second baby, not because I wasn't given the option, but because I was told by my nurse that the paperwork you have to sign to attempt a VBAC is extremely lengthy and very scary. She did have a VBAC and even she said that if she had known what that paperwork said ahead of time, she would NOT have gone through with it!

I do wonder what doctors out there are performing c-sections at the request of their patients?! At what point do people think that they have the authority to make those kinds of decisions if they are not medically necessary, and why would you want to? I think a vaginal birth is such a wonderful, natural thing that I deeply regret not ever being able to experience (though I wouldn't trade the results of my c-section for the world!!!)
