You can't say the government isn't looking out for your best interest...

When we were applying for Lila's social security card in Ohio, we had the good fortune (?) of going downtown to the main social security office.

During our 45 minutes waiting in line, I perused the many booklets that were available for the taking.

I appreciated this one:

Yes. "What Every Woman Should Know"
--
I believe it covered everything from wearing white after Labor Day to what to do when you "become a woman".
(Kidding.)

But seriously, isn't that awesome?

The next booklet that caught my eye... (pun intended) was this one:

The booklet says, "If You Are Blind Or Have Low Vision -- How We Can Help."
--
Oddly, out of all of the booklets in the pamphlet rack there seemed to be a larger inventory of this one... Hmmm... I don't know why... I'm sure it has nothing to do with blind folks not being able to SEE it.
--
I heart the U.S. of A.

  1. HAHA! That is seriously awesome.

I love how gov. offices and dr. offices have pamphlets for everything! I think that is so they don't have to talk to you and instead just hand you a little booklet that will answer all your questions in the most vague way possible. Maybe next time they should invest in a braille or large pamphlet.

  2. K - Have you seen Idiocracy? If not, you must watch it. These pamplets reminded me of the hospital scene.

  3. Sarah H, we have Idiocracy sitting at home right now. In fact, I think we're watching it tonight! Weird.
