Don't interrupt me.

I truly think that interrupting someone whilst they speak is ridiculously rude.

Now, don't get me wrong. If you interrupt because you're excited or relating to the person you're talking to - it's totally ok.

Example:

ME: "I tell you what, I love Lionel..."

YOU: "Richie? I love Lionel Richie, too!"

Totally ok.

Next, if someone is explaining something to you that you do not already know about - don't interrupt with questions and statements until I'm finished talking.

Kindly give me the same respect that I give you. Thanks much.
That's all.

  1. This is so good to be reminded about. I think I am totally an offender of this, wanting to know details that I should just WAIT for.

(although I don't think I'm one of those annoying people who can't keep their mouth shut..... I'm sure those annoying people don't think they are either. lol.)

  2. I completely agree. I tell you what, there is a woman at work who constantly interrupts. It's sad that I don't think I've had a conversation with her where she did not interrupt once. And it isn't just, "Oh, I'm sorry, please continue." No. She will interrupt in the middle of the story because you said one word or phrase, and she will start her new story. Right in the middle of yours.

And what's so funny about it: she complains that she is completely annoyed when people interrupt her and dominate the conversation. So, does she annoy herself?

  3. I could not agree more. This especially annoys me when I am explaining something to a client and a CO WORKER interrupts me. Uh, HELLO!??! We are on the same team. I just want to slap people that do that.
