Book #1:
Title: Ella Minnow Pea
Author: Mark Dunn

Someone from this here blog recommended I read this book and I am SO, SO glad that I did. I ADORED it. (Thank you!)

Words, words, words! The book is filled with glorious words. And it's witty. And fun. And a quick read you will not want to end. I don't re-read books too often, but I'm sure I will this one.

It had just enough enough imagination combined with cleverness and a strong heroine that I literally smiled while I read it.

4 stars. (Out of 4 stars.)

Available on Amazon for as low as $5.85.

Title: The Purpose of Christmas
Author: Rick Warren

While I'm pretty clear on the true meaning of Christmas, this book was a lovely little reminder/pick-me up. I bought it in the airport after having been dropped off by my Mom and sister - and it's just what I needed. (Note: Rick Warren is the author of The Purpose Driven Life and has been chosen by Barack to pray at his inaugeration. I wasn't a fan of The Purpose Driven Life like others were, but I figured I'd give him another chance.)

Quick read. Read it. Especially if you're one of those people who doesn't "like" Christmas because of all of the obligation, gift-buying and commercialism. It'll give you a whole new perspective.

My favorite lines:
"Every time your heart beats and every time you take a breath, God is saying, "I love you."

"If you prayed as much as you complain and quarrel, you'd have a lot less to argue about and much more peace of mind."

Read it. Available on Amazon for as little as $6.75.
